May, 2001 - Bass High School 50 year Reunion Committee

Roland, Reba and Joe (l-r in picture below) all graduated from Bass High School in 1951. It was the first four (4) year graduation class from Bass which opened in 1924 as a Junior High School.

Roland Moore, Reba Treon and Joe Putnal

Joe and Roland visited the Archives over 18 years ago and this was a return visit for them.

Roland Moore visited the APS Archives along with long time friend and classmate Joe Putnal to conduct research for their 50th Class Reunion. During their visit Roland Moore was able to purchase his Bass High School Annual.

During their tour of our museum they noticed Reba Treon's class ring in one of our exhibits. They both wondered aloud where she was and what she was doing. Little did they know that their class mate, Reba Treon, a former APS Teacher, Registrar, and Principal was now acting Director of the Atlanta Public Schools Records Center which is also housed in the Historic David T. Howard Building. The reunion was nostalgic for all.
