Bass High School

A public school, William Anderson Bass High School at Little Five Points in Atlanta actually was divided into two class groups: grades 7--8, Junior High, and 9-12, High School. I went the distance until graduation in 1951. Our ceremony was in the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium downtown, and featured our singing The Battle Hymn of the Republic. My parents considered these events a waste of time, so this was the third and last graduation ceremony of my own that I attended. All the other ones have been for our children and grandchildren. My wife and I cherish those memories.
